Membership & Round Robin Policy

2025 Spring/summer season

PAC now has official non-profit status (501c3) federally and with the State.  With that status we can offer official membership. The cost of membership from May 1, 2025 through April 30, 2026 is $30.00.

Checks can be made out to “Pickleball Above the Clouds” and can be given to any of the Board members. Membership fees are used towards purchasing equipment and for donating to the City for pickleball court upgrades. We are not conducting any special donation drive this year but additional donations are always welcome.

Membership Benefits:
·        Access to open play through the TeamReach app.
·        Access to emails with updates from the PAC board
·        A vote on membership initiatives as outlined by the Board

TeamReach App:
Once you pay the $30 membership fee, you will be sent an invitation to use the TeamReach app. The TeamReach app will have all open play days listed. Please use this app to sign up to play on the days of your choice. The current TeamReach app we have been using will be closed on April 30. For those who are not using the app yet, you will need to download the app on your phone and then click on the link on the invitation and follow the instructions. If you need assistance with the App please see Bob.

PAC play guests:
Please note that the courts are public, therefore you do not need to be a member of PAC to play pickleball during non-reserved times.  If you are not a PAC member and want to play during open play times or have a friend/family who wants to play, we ask that you pay a $5.00 guest fee. Any scheduled play leader will collect that fee at the time of play. We are using the honor system with this.

Partnership with the City for access to more pickleball courts:
For the 2024-2025 Outdoor Pickleball season our agreement with The City of Woodland Park is to tape off 4 temporary courts each on Court 1 and 2 near the dog park.
1)MWSC Master Plan has provided for the reconstruction of 8 Pickleball courts on the existing tennis court area.
2) to allow us to reserve Courts 1 & 2 for open play at a cost of $5/court/hour. In lieu of collecting those fees, we will put those fees into an account to give to the City when courts are eventually resurfaced.

It is vital that we track pickleball play on the courts. The data from the use of pickleball courts is essential when applying for grants and making arguments to be given a budget line item for 8 new/improved pickleball courts included in the MWSC Mater Plan. So PLEASE sign up on the TeamReach app on the days you are planning to play.

As your Board, we are working diligently with the City (and they with us) to get more access to pickleball courts. We have made great progress in the last 2 years, thanks for your support! Membership open play (play times will be available on the TeamReach app):
* Open Play – All skill levels – Scheduled sessions will be lead by Bob/Rob, Cindy/Jim, and Steve/Diane.
* Beginner’s Only – will be lead by Cindy and Jim.

RR Invite Only – Scheduled sessions will be lead by Barb and or Bob based on play dates and times. Note: If you are a member of this group, your Open play session frequency will be limited.

As always, please feel free to share your appreciations and concerns with us via email or in person.

Have a great 2025 season!

Round Robin Invite Only Policy*

Prior to the beginning of the Spring outdoor season, the Round Robin Facilitators will review both the number of openings on the Round Robin roster and the names of players who have been recommended for an invitation.  Recommendations can come from the player themselves, other players, or facilitators of Open/Round Robin play.

For players to be invited to play, the following criteria are considered:

• The player has repeatedly been mentioned as a good candidate for Round Robin play.

• The player consistently plays at the 3.5 or higher levels.

• The player consistently plays at the high end of Open Play.

If the Round Robin roster has openings, the Round Robin Facilitators will decide whom to invite based on the criteria outlined above.  Those chosen players will then be personally invited to participate in Round Robin play by the Lead Facilitator.

If the Round Robin roster is “full”, any player that has been recommended will be placed on a waiting list.  When an opening becomes available, the player at the top of the waiting list will be sent an invitation if that player meets the criteria outlined above.

Each year, the Lead Facilitator will ask each player, already on the roster, to evaluate their play level to see if they are able to continue to play at the Round Robin level.

* Based around Round Robin policy that Pikes Peak Pickleball Association uses in Colorado Springs, CO.
